7'6" 5wt Field Series Rod 2pc Garrison 209 Taper
7'6" 5WT BAMBOO FLY ROD
Garrison 209 Taper
Hand-Finished in Utah • Built for the River
Bamboo feel. Rivercraft craftsmanship. A price that makes it easier to get one in your hands.
There’s something different about fishing bamboo.
The slower rhythm of the cast. The smooth, progressive feel as the rod loads. The connection you feel between your hand, the line, and the water. It’s a feeling that has kept anglers coming back to bamboo for generations.
Our 7'6" 4-weight bamboo fly rod brings that experience within reach.
This rod begins with a professionally manufactured bamboo blank, allowing us to eliminate much of the labor and expense involved in building a completely hand-planed bamboo rod from raw cane. We then complete the rod here in our Utah shop, adding the components, wraps, finish, and final touches that turn the blank into a finished Rivercraft fly rod.
The result is an honest, beautifully crafted bamboo rod that delivers the character and feel of bamboo without the premium price of a fully hand-built rod.
On this model, you get to choose the wrap colors!
MADE FOR UTAH WATER
At 7'6" and 4-weight, this rod is right at home on the kind of water we love most—small mountain streams, winding trout creeks, and the rivers that cut through the high country.
It's light enough for delicate presentations and technical trout fishing, yet has enough substance to make every fish feel like an event.
Take it deep into the mountains. Wade a cold Utah creek. Walk the banks of your favorite river. This is a rod made to be fished, not kept behind glass.
THE SMART WAY TO FISH BAMBOO
Building a traditional bamboo fly rod entirely by hand is an incredible craft—but it also requires an enormous amount of time and labor. Our factory-produced blanks allow us to offer a different option.
You get:
The unmistakable feel and character of bamboo
A carefully finished and assembled rod
Quality components and craftsmanship from the Rivercraft shop
A 7'6" 5-weight configuration ideal for trout
A significantly lower price than a fully hand-built bamboo rod
For the angler who wants to experience bamboo without stepping all the way into the investment of a custom, hand-planed rod, this is the perfect place to start.
Less time at the bench. More time on the river.
BUILT IN UTAH. READY FOR ADVENTURE.
We built this rod for anglers who would rather be outside than standing around talking about gear.
Throw it in the truck. Strap it to your pack. Hike until the trail disappears. Find a stretch of water that looks promising and start casting.
Because at the end of the day, a fly rod isn't meant to be admired from a distance.
It's meant to bend.
